Be proud of the career you have and show him the love you have for your life. The more enthusiastic you are about what you have going on, the more he'll want to get on board. The pressure on him to fill you life will be diminished.

However, not all your mother's advice is wrong. Sex is still something that should be held off until later. Perhaps not until you're married, like back then, but it is still wise to give the relationship a chance to get off the ground before jumping into bed with him.

There's also the fact that men today still need to feel important in the eyes of the woman they love. Don't be afraid to let him know that you admire him and show your respect for him. Many women come to be combative on their dates with men, often putting him down, ridiculing him and putting themselves above him.

Women have made great strides in life, but there's no need to repeatedly remind your date of this. You want to share a life with him, not constantly prove how you're better than him.

Make him fall in love with you by showing him that you're really the woman he needs in his life.
