Stuck at First Base? The Things You Do That Mean You Never Get a Second Date

Does your love life seem like one long quest to get a second date? Do you get lots of second dates, but not with the person you spent the first date with? Have you ever started to wonder if it's something to do with you? The truth is, there are things that you could be doing which are killing your chances of seeing the same guy more than once. This article will show you what they are. Once you know that, you can stop doing them and get a second date with ease - assuming you want to!

Mistake Number 1 - Looking Desperate

For many women, the pressure of going on a first date with someone is made even worse by the idea that they might not get a second. This can lead them into some very desperate looking behaviors. If you find yourself practically begging a guy to arrange a second date, you need to seal your lips, and pronto. Desperation is never sexy, and it makes you look as if you only want to be with this guy to trap him in some way. Not very flattering, and a guaranteed way to ensure that he never calls you again, ever.

Mistake Number 2 - Complaining About All Your Other Dates

If you've had a run of bad dates that never went anywhere, it's tempting to complain about them to the guy you're currently with. From your point of view, it's just letting off a little lighthearted steam. From his point of view, it's rank bad manners. His sympathies will lie with the guys you're complaining about, not with you. And adding "but I'm sure you're not like that" doesn't make it all right, either!

Mistake Number 3 - Making It All About You

Another common mistake that makes it difficult for you to get a second date is to spend the entire evening talking about yourself. How many people are on this date, anyway? That's right - two! So the balance of the conversation should reflect that. Tell him a little bit about who you are and what you do, then ask him a few questions about who he is and what he does. The conversation will develop it's own momentum, and you'll both finish up the evening feeling as if you've been truly listened to. Second date gold!

Mistake Number 4 - General Discourtesy

This shouldn't need saying, but sadly it does. It's amazing how many women forget their basic manners when they're on a date, and turn up late, forget their date's name, or simply don't bother to turn up at all without any explanation. Treat your date as you would like to be treated yourself, and you'll significantly improve your chances of seeing him again in the future.

Above all, the best way to get a second date is to feel relaxed about the first one. Go out, enjoy it, and don't act as if the fate of the universe depends on it. If you can communicate calm and relaxation and enjoyment, you'll automatically become the sort of woman guys want to spend more time with.

Why Do I Never Get Past the First Date, Is It Me?

Do you have a lot of awkward moments like this?

Woman: Hi, you must be George Smith

Man: No my name is George Smite

Woman: Are you the man my friend Helen set me up with?

Man: Yes!

Woman: Then your name must be George Smith! Let's go!

Man: No madam, my name is George Smite.

Woman: You are the most argumentative man I have ever met. I no longer want to go out with you.

Sometimes it is hard for people to communicate, especially in awkward situations. People often do not put our best foot forward when we are trying our hardest. Other times the person we are dealing with seems to be from another planet. It is so hard to get acquainted with someone new because neither person knows what to expect.

How can you meet someone you can communicate your deepest feelings with, when you can't even find someone who understands plain English? How can you find someone you can fall in love with, when so far you haven't found anyone you can tolerate for more than a few hours. Is it possible to find love, when you can't even find someone you like?

Have you entered the fourth circle of dating Hades?

Once you have asked out all the eligible people in your small circle of friends, then met their friends, and eventually end up blind dating friends of friends of friends none of which you have ever met, it is probably time to try something different.

Are you getting too shy for singles bars?

As Teens it was so easy to meet people because we go out more and we know more people then. As we get older and busier with our career, we tend to become more introverted and set in our ways. We become creatures of habit, with little time or interest in socialising. We loose our edge and we forget how to converse with others comfortably in social situations. It is really hard as a mature adult to go into a singles bar, and try to pick someone up. Why? Because it just doesn't seem like what we want any more. Perhaps you are ready for a meaningful relationship, but just can't find a relationship that has the potential to be meaningful.

Have you thought of getting professional help?

Dating Agencies can be very helpful in situations like this, because unlike your friends, dating agencies are professionals who can match you with people who would be compatible with you. It is all very scientific and precise. They have extensive questionnaires which narrow your choices and select people you would really like to date, and who are eager to meet you. Sometimes they use video clips of each person to allow you and the other person to view each other without that awful risk of rejection.

Only interested applicants need apply

Wouldn't it be great to know upon meeting someone, that you definitely will have a lot of things in common and that the person has already seen and admired your appearance, and observed you on video tape without backing off? Using a dating agency takes a lot of the risk away for both parties.

Make Him Love You - Two Tricks That Never Fail

Are you trying to make him love you? Do you look at those women with a man in their lives and wonder how they did it? Would you like to know the way into a loving relationship with a great guy? There are two tricks women should never forget.

Men tend to confuse sex with love, therefore falling out of love once their sexual urge as been taken care of. Women, on the other hand, tend to put a lot of importance on a sexual encounter. Emotions can easily be formed by such intimate contact. So, know that putting on a sexy dress will probably get him into your bed, but chances are it will end there, no matter how much your heart is already dying to have him.

If you want more out of the relationship, know how to get to the heart of the man that he is. The mark of a great date is a dose of fun mingled with a great amount of communication. Let him open up and tell you about himself; who he is, what he likes and where he's going in his life. And don't criticize or try to better him. What you want here is for him to feel good about the man that he is. You don't want to show him how unimpressive he is by telling him that you're better.

The communication should be a balance of allowing him to impress you with who he is all while impressing him with who you are. Don't hog the conversation or give the impression of being too full of yourself by over-inflating your assets. While you may be proud of your accomplishments and you want to let him know about them, don't be cocky. A man will love and admire your confidence, but he'll resent and be put off by your self aggrandizement. Let the conversation be fun and easy, amusing and intriguing. The more fun he has with you on that first date and the better he feels about himself when he leaves that date, the better chance there is that he'll come back for more.

If after a few dates you're tempted to push for more involvement, tread lightly. Men can become very vexed by the notion of feeling trapped or pressured. Remember, they prefer to hunt rather than be hunted. So if you insist he spend more time with you or bring the relationship to a more serious level, there's a good chance he'll back away altogether.

If you relax and continue to offer up great dates that are fun and filled with excitement, intrigue and discovery, he'll bring up the topic of a serious relationship on his own.

The thing about making him fall in love with you is that you don't want to force the emotion. You want to invite it, entice it and then be ready to give all your love in return when he does realize how much he wants, needs and loves you.
