How to Forget Someone You Love And Move On

Do you need to forget someone you love, even though you don't really want to do it? Is it time to stop mooning over a lost relationship and move forward with your life? Can you really forget someone you love and find a new, better relationship? Even though it can be tremendously difficult, it is possible to forget someone you love still - it does take time, but by following this advice, you can begin the process of healing your heart and moving on.

Admit It Is Over

Before you can move on, you've got to admit to yourself that the relationship you thought would never end is, indeed, over. Cry on friends' shoulders, write sad poems and listen to all the great break up songs. Immerse yourself in sorrow.

Before you do this, though, get your calendar. Mark the date three days from now as the date when you will stop your official mourning period and move on. Circle it in red, put a shiny foil star on it, do something. If you use your phone's calendar, fill that day with alarms that will remind you that it's time to move on. OK...now it's safe to cry.

Move Your Thoughts To Other Things

When you get to that all-important date when you plan to move forward, do everything you can to distract yourself. You might need to enlist the help of friends to accomplish this goal, but it is important to remember that life is filled with great opportunities just waiting for you to take advantage of them.

Remember Who You Really Are

Quite often, when people become heavily involved in relationships, they forget themselves. They stop doing the things they once enjoyed, and they put their relationship first. Now is the time to get back to what you loved! Play that musical instrument you put away a few years ago. Pick up those paintbrushes, and spend an afternoon immersing your soul in art. Get out your writing supplies, and start working on the next great American novel. Whatever it is, the point is, you have to do what pleases you deep inside. Be yourself, and love yourself.

Take Care Of Yourself

All too often, when you want to forget someone you love, you start down the path of destructive behavior. You might be drinking too much, not eating properly, or exercising too little or too much. Excess of any kind is not going to help you, so look after your health to achieve balance.

Have Fun, and Start Dating

Once you are feeling a little more like yourself, get out of the house. Go on little trips with your friends, and try to meet new people. This is a crucial part of the process it takes to forget someone you love - you must step outside your boundaries, realize that your opportunities for friendship and fun are limitless, and that you do indeed have a chance to make a new life for yourself.

Start dating, even if it is just with your friends! Go out in groups, act silly, meet people to talk to, and soon enough you will wonder what it was you were so concerned about. Life is great - take it in!

Find Someone to Love: How to Meet the Man of Your Dreams

Are you ready to settle down and find someone to love? Have you had it with dating an endless stream of guys who let you down and disappoint you? Are you ready to meet the man of your dreams? Most people reach the stage of life when they feel just like you do now. Men and women alike come to the understanding that they've got to find someone to love before it's too late. No matter who you are, there's sure to be someone out there who is a perfect match. Here's how to meet the man of your dreams.

Understand Who You Are

If you don't already have a grasp on who you are and which direction you want your life to take, it's time to find that anchor and hang on. Who are you really? What are your most important hopes and dreams? Are you a traveler, or a homebody? Is education and a prestigious career high on your list, or would you rather live a simpler lifestyle?

Understanding your goals and taking steps to work toward them can give you an all-important sense of self. Too often, we find someone to love early in life - simply for the reason that we need love and companionship - and we end up growing out of the relationship. By knowing who you are, and what you want out of life, you can avoid the pain of a broken marriage.

What Does Love Look Like to You?

What is your love style? Do you need a lot of freedom and space in your relationships? Do you spend a lot of time on your own, and love it? Or, would you rather find someone to love, and spend as much time as possible enjoying life as a couple? It doesn't matter what your idea of the perfect relationship is - the point is, understand what you want from love and go for it.

As you think about what you want from your relationship, think in exactly these terms - "what do I want my relationship to look like?" Avoid thinking in negative terms - you'll be happier in the long run if you keep your thought process positive.

Where To Meet The Perfect Guy

Once you have a good idea of what you want that perfect guy to be to you, then you're ready to find someone to love. Where you look, depends a lot on who you are looking for!

Once again, it's time to do some soul searching. Where do you like to spend time? What activities do you like to take part in? It may be that you already enjoy spending time in places where there are plenty of guys who are also ready to find someone to love. Conversely, it may be that you just don't go anywhere where men are in great abundance. If that's the case, you will need to come up with a strategy for meeting someone without going to places you'd rather not be.

Online dating has greatly improved over the years. There are dating sites for people from all walks of life. If you're a religious person, you can sign up on a site that connects people of the same faith. If you like pets or sports, you can find a place to meet someone with similar interests. There are sites for Ivy League grads, and sites for millionaires. There are even sites where you can meet members of the US military if you love men in uniform!

One of the best strategies to find someone to love is to diversify your search. Sign up on more than one dating site, and leave no stone unturned in your local search as well. It might take some work - and you don't want to settle for someone who is not your ideal match - but if you do the work required, you're sure to be happy in the long run.
