Love Test - What's Your Greatest Risk on the Path to Passionate Love

Whether you're single and seeking your love match or you're hoping to improve an existing relationship, there is one great risk you face on your path to love.

What is the greatest risk?

Playing it safe. That is how you risk missing the profound experience of genuine, passionate love.

What are the symptoms of playing it safe?

Find out when you take this Love Test:

Do you:

* search for security and peace of not rocking the boat with a date or mate?
* run from the possibility of feeling afraid or needy, of being hurt again or of experiencing romantic bliss with your partner?
* look for red flags to justify staying protected and isolated from a partner?
* hold back your secrets, stories, dreams, desires or expressions of love so your partner never knows the real you?
* believe you'd rather be right than happy?
* change the subject to avoid feeling uncomfortable?
* reach the brink of love and balk rather than take the leap?
* judge your feelings or reject your gut instincts?
* detach emotionally and feel drained of energy and joy?
* build a case against a relationship at the first sign of fear, anxiety or confusion?
* blame others for your lack of love or happiness?

How did you score?

If you answered NO to any of these questions, you know where you are NOT playing it safe in a dating or long-term relationship.

Why?

* You are aware of scary emotions that appear and pass like scattered clouds shading the sun's light.
* You know you are that luminous light, and you choose a partner who appreciates your radiance.
* You discount the voice of your inner critic who warns that loving someone isn't worth the pain that comes from disappointments.
* You know that you deserve to love and be loved truly, deeply, passionately.
* You reveal the authentic you with kind-hearted honesty in your interactions with your date or mate.
* You let go of past conclusions of how you or a beloved will behave in a relationship and see your new relationship with fresh, clear eyes.
* You connect in ways that energize you and your partner.
* You take full responsibility for your own happiness.
* You would rather risk breaking your heart by loving completely than building a wall around your heart which keeps you safe and isolated.

If you answered YES to any question on this Love Test, then you now know where and how you are playing it safe. You also know the alternate choice you can make as a way to stay on your path to genuine love.

Ideally, you'll use these smart Love Tips to enrich your relationship.

Can't Get a Date? What's The Problem?

Tired of the Single Life? Try These...

A few basic, fundamental problems are the most common causes of dating difficulties for most people.

No matter how young or old you are, if you're determined to have a significant other with whom you'd like to spend the rest of your life, you will succeed. You simply need to develop the right mindset and the most effective tactics. Yes, simply. It's really not as difficult as it might sound. Your new mantra: Don't waver, don't deviate and most of all, don't lose hope.

As for the overcoming the "problem", I've culled some tips.

Protecting - aka 'the attic

Protective -or, as I like to call it, the attic-behavior keeps you inside and away from what you truly desire: love. We hide inside the 'attic' when we're not ready to get out there and date. If you're ever going to find love, you must open the door and venture outside your attic. After all, you have no chance of meeting anyone other than mice and cockroaches in there. You can't love a roach.

Drop the Negative Self-Talk

You know all those voices telling you that you haven't got what it takes, you're not attractive enough, you're not marriage material, and so on? Get rid of them. That's negative self-dialogue, and it's destroying you. It's also turning you into a schizophrenic, and who in heaven's name wants to date a schizo? Okay, yes, Abraham Lincoln; let's find someone more stable for you. At any rate, knock off the negativity and start believing in yourself.

Extreme Pickiness

Dating is a process of selection. Being selective in your choices is a necessary and healthy part of finding love. Using caution in your screening process can weed out certain types who might not be good for you, like people who are dishonest, self-centered or wave other red flags. Setting some standards can help you narrow down your choices and increase your chances of succeeding at dating by understanding what traits-both tangible and intangible-are important to you. That's normal selectivity, i.e. pickiness.

In the case of the Extremely Picky Dater, I'm talking about an almost pathological level of sensitivity. These people who have laundry lists of requirements that others must have in order to be even considered potential dates. Because we live in a society where we are both demanding and use to getting instant information, we've become a bit impatient and closed off, sometimes to our own detriment. For instance, are you one of those people who decides within 30 minutes of a first date if you want a second or not. Wow, a half-hour? You've barely knocked out the first cocktail and finished an appetizer at that point. Seems a bit premature.

Too Chunky/Dumpy/Frumpy

I've had plenty of clients who were a hundred pounds overweight, but I've had many, many more who were only twenty to forty pounds overweight. Some haven't changed their hairstyle since the 80s or updated their wardrobes since the 90s. If you are a Chunky/Dumpy/Frumpy type you are having trouble with your appearance, which is causing you dating trouble.

Most of the time, this is easy to remedy. Get new clothes, visit the salon, hit the gym and commit to a healthier lifestyle. You'll be amazed how quickly it gets you off the couch and into the dating world.

Too Busy to Date

We all know people who are the Too Busy types. They usually have one really demanding job, or juggle two or three jobs. Sometimes they have over-packed social calendars or way too many hobbies. On the rare occasions that Too Busy is home, they're swamped with home projects that they insist are going to help them attract and keep the person of their dreams, aka the soul-mate they haven't met yet because they've had no time to go on any dates.

If you're a Too Busy type you think that finding love is the next piece in your life puzzle. To me, it's the only piece of your puzzle. Finding love isn't what you do in your spare time; it's what you commit yourself to doing all the time.

If you've made it this far reading this article, chances are you've identified with some things here, and you're ready tackle some issues and make finding love a priority. Devote as much of your time as possible making yourself confident, comfortable and ready to connect with people. Next time, we'll dig into the topic of where to find them. Until then, love yourself and know that love will find you.

Dating Chemistry Test - What's The Best Question To Ask A Potential Love Match?

Would you like to stop dead-end dating? Are you ready to find love and create a great relationship? If so, here's some great news. You've got the right love mindset to attract a perfect match who shares your desire to meet their Great Love and create a relationship built to last.

We all deserve a red-hot relationship with lasting love, and we typically find it through the dating process. Here's more great news: You can make minor changes in the way you date to make major changes in your dating success and happiness. Want to leave your doubts behind you? You will when you understand that the Great Love you are seeking is seeking you. What's the best way to find great love?

I encourage single men and women to get to know many potential love matches simultaneously--on platonic levels--until you sort through mis-matches and choose your most compatible match for a serious relationship.

When you meet someone you view as a potential love match, what's the number 1 question to ask them?

Are you dating anyone?

You want to find out if your desirable date is emotionally available or emotionally entangled with someone else in a casual or sexual dating relationship. Before you open your heart to someone, find out if they are emotionally free to explore the possibilities of moving beyond friendship and forming a relationship with you. Your honesty and that of your potential match is an essential foundation for a healthy relationship.

What if your date avoids an honest answer or acts like they're hiding something?

It is important to be honest in all of your interactions if you want to build a healthy, happy relationship. Again, there is nothing wrong and no reason to hide the fact that you are meeting many potential matches at once during the sorting process of dating. In fact, I recommend this dating strategy, so you can choose your most compatible love match and avoid the heartache of getting emotionally involved with someone who is otherwise engaged. We all know it's difficult to be emotionally bonded with several people at once.

It also is difficult to be with someone who doesn't value honesty. If a potential match seems to be hiding relevant info about their dating life, then they may not be emotionally available nor honest about other aspects of their life. That's incentive to move on so you can meet your Great Love who's honest and available to create a great relationship with you.
